Presentation of the case

The Orpéa scandal, revealed in January 2022, highlighted serious shortcomings in the treatment of residents in the group's EHPAD nursing homes. Despite a responsible discourse and positive CSR ratings, Orpéa was accused of institutional mistreatment. This case highlights the limits of the managerial doctrine of CSR, which is often dominated by financial logic. In response to these criticisms, the concept of the mission-driven company is explored as a viable political solution for transforming corporate practices.
